In 1936 Dixie Canner moved to Athens, GA where the University of Georgia Agriculture Extension Service was developing a Community Canning concept for preserving surplus vegetables, fruits, and meats. During its heyday, Dixie Canner was an integral part of this concept as a provider of the equipment. Dixie Canner became a separate Georgia corporation in 1945. Today, Dixie continues to fill the need for low volume canning and packaging equipment for R&D and Educational Projects, Specialty Canning and Packaging operations ... Worldwide. |
